We coordinate with fuel providers

Our mandate is to provide warmth to families who are unable to provide for themselves. We work with the fuel companies and arrange for fuel deliveries, even in situations where the client’s account may be in arrears.

Fuel for warmth delivered to your home

We also work with Hydro One and we offer a wood delivery service for those that heat with wood. Funds are never given directly to the client.

  • What does Fuel for Warmth do?

    Fuel for Warmth provides emergency assistance for people who have a heating crisis.

  • Who can apply?

     Anyone who finds themselves in a difficult financial situation can apply for assistance. We understand that every situation is unique and assess each one individually.

  • When should I contact you for help?

    In order to make our donated dollars go further and avoid emergency delivery charges, please contact us when your fuel level is at about 25%.

  • How long does it take to get help?

     In most cases the fuel company is contacted by Fuel for Warmth within 1 business day of our first contact with you. We try to arrange delivery when the fuel truck is next scheduled to be in your area. If you are contacting us about firewood, delivery is within a few days.

  • How can I help?

    Financial donations are always welcome. Cheques made out to Fuel for Warmth should be mailed to PO Box 313, Minden, ON, K0M 2K0. E-transfers can be sent to fuelforwarmthincorporated@gmail.com Please make sure to include your name and address in order to receive a tax receipt for your donation. We also take donations of hardwood for our firewood program, and in some circumstances heating fuel can be donated. Please contact us for more information.
